Christina Elisabetha Klarenbach was born in 1799 in Rottenhan to Johann Heinrich Klarenbach and Anna Maria Stoffel. Her parents had originally come from the Rheinland region of Germany. Her father born in 1768 in Hottenbach (Birkfield) and her mother on 27 Aug 1790 in Hirschfeld (Hunsrück) were married in Lemberg, Galicia on 20 February in 1791.
